When I dedicated my first ultra-marathon race four years ago to raising money to support the Ghana Pediatric Nurses Training Program, there were no Pediatric nurses in Ghana. Today 220 nurses are now working to improve the lives of children in Ghana every day. Our goal is to have 1500 nurses trained over the next 10 years. That goal appears (much like the finish line looks at the start of an Ultra) a long way off. The secret to racing and succeeding in finishing a 100 mile race is to take it one step at a time. If you don’t start, you’ll never finish.
On August 11th, I will be racing in the Fat Dog 120 mile trail race in support of the dedicated nurses of Ghana. Please join me in support of this amazing program. Together we can push this goal closer to that finish line.
